Vehicles operating with internal combustion engines emit harmful emissions that cause environmental pollution. In addition, the consumption of limited fossil fuel resources required for these vehicles also causes an energy crisis. These problems have initiated R&D studies to develop environmentally friendly electric vehicles instead of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. Today, R&D studies for these vehicles continue uninterruptedly for the development and improvement of both the electric powered engine and the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and cooling (HVAC & R) systems of the vehicle. In this study, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) air ducts for two different buses with 12 m length, standing and seated passenger capacity of 25 and 62 respectively, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) designed with CATIA V5R20 CAD software and added to SOLIDWORKS CAD software. ), flow analyzes were also made with the module In the CFD studies, the air ducts of the bus powered by both electric and internal combustion engines were examined. In this way, computer aided simulation studies have been carried out for temperature distribution, speed distribution and pressure distribution in the passenger cabin. With the analysis made, it has been tried to reduce the ambient temperature from 30 oC to 16 oC. Prototypes were also produced by cost analysis of the channels for which computer aided design and analysis studies were carried out. Performance tests of the developed prototype canals were carried out in a bus powered by an internal combustion engine. A KIMO VT200 brand anemometer was used to measure the velocity of the air from the duct vent and the temperatures inside the passenger cabin. During the test process, the bus air conditioning temperature was kept constant at 24 ° C, and temperature, speed and flow measurements were made at the vent on each passenger compartment along the left side of the bus. With the measurements made, it has been determined that uniform temperature distribution is ensured in the passenger cabin and the temperature is reduced to 17 ° C.
