In this study, in the first stage, the liquefaction potential of the sand bed was investigated with FLAC3D software and the results were confirmed by the results of the international VELACS project. In the next step, by choosing the triangular arrangement, the effect of the column group to reduce the pore water overpressure and collapse is investigated. According to the geometric properties of the columns in the present study, the results show that the effect of the group in reducing the excess water pressure of the pits decreases by increasing the distance from the center to the center of the columns. As the distance between columns decreases in a certain number of columns, soil swelling increases. For the center-to-center distances of columns equal to 2.5 to 3.5 times the column diameter, the column group works better at reducing the collapse. By applying the peak load in the range of circular shapes with approximately radius equal to the distance from the middle of the columns to the center of the column group in the model, the collapse is significantly reduced compared to the column-free situation.
