Garden art and architecture is one of the best examples of the reflection of man's relationship with nature to architecture. Iranian gardens show differences according to the geographical characteristics of different climatic regions of the country, the local culture of various regions and most importantly, the periods in which they were built. However, the basic design features and the logic behind these designs are broadly similar. Therefore, the present study aims to highlight the main features of the Iranian garden and the significance of these valuable architectural works. In this direction, the architectural features and basic components of Iranian garden design are introduced and examined with the case study method. In this direction, the features and components of Iranian gardens are discussed under the headings of geometric design, restraint, garden pavilion, use of water, trees and plants. Later, these criteria are discussed over the Shazde Mahan garden located in Kerman province of Iran. The findings of the study provide guiding principles for revealing more sustainable works in today's urban design and landscape architectural designs by making the gardens, which are the most important part of Iran's traditional architecture, being noticed in the course of time.
