Plodia interpunctella (Hübner), known as the Dried fruit moth, it is the main pest of stored and processed food commodities. This study was carried out to detect P. interpunctella, which causes crop losses, and to reveal the damage rate in pistachio stored in Siirt province in September-March period of 2020-2021. Samples were taken from 12 different stored in the districts of Merkez, Eruh and Tillo, where pistachio production is intense in Siirt. Dried pistachio samples taken 1 kg (average of 700 pistachio fruits) from each stored were cultured in the laboratory at room conditions. In the inspected samples, P. interpunctella was detected in a total of 7 samples and a total of 47 adults were obtained. The highest damage rate was found in the strored in the Central district with 21.7%. As a result, it is extremely important to protect the Siirt pistachio, which is important for the economy of our country and Siirt province, from harmful insects. In this context, it was concluded that it would be beneficial to conduct research studies on continuous observation and control of P. interpunctella.
