Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the adaptability and yield performance of Kahramanmaraş Elbistan grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) population to Central Anatolia ecological conditions. The study was conducted in 2018 at Gölbaşı-Ikizce station of Central Research Institute for Field Crops in  Ankara. In this study, morphological, phenological and agricultural characteristics of the plant were examined. Morphological features studied in a plant such as the length of the main stem, the thickness of the main stem, the height of the natural plant and the number of the stem were found to be 33.86 cm, 1.43 mm, 27.58 cm and 2.66 number, respectively. Agricultural properties such as green herbage yield, pod number per plant, seed number per pod, biological yield, seed yield, straw yield, harvest index were measured as 7.41 g/plant, 13.82 pod, 2.85 seed, 12.01 g/plant, 5.13 g/plant, 6.54 g/plant, 43.66 %, respectively. According to the results of this work, it was determined that the Kahramanmaraş Elbistan grass pea population adapts to the ecological conditions of Central Anatolia and its yield performance was also good.
